Hyatt Place, California State University
Northridge, California
New 144 room Hyatt Place Conference Center Hotel Placed at the entry to the California State University adjacent to the last surviving orange grove in the San Fernando Valley. Program includes an independent restaurant. Planning and design is developed around a court yard that focusses on the orange grove and magnificent London Plane trees that inhabit the site. The project enhances the subtle and comprehensive open space system of the existing campus and represents the idea of an institution of higher learning, a place to meet, relax and engage in a unique site which represents the beauty and subtlety of this San Fernando Valley location.
